I'm sorry I can't hear you, I'm queued under my rock.

um what?

Pretty much every taste I’ve had of corporate life so far has been pretty janky.  I was so looking forward to all of this but so far I feel like I’m fumbling about in a dark world I seem to know nothing about.  Yes, school taught me new ways to think about design.. but they left out the fact that businesses don’t seem to communicate.  More than ever I want to be part of a design team, not just someone working freelance.

******a few examples of the jankyness

Sponsored projects with SCAD?  hated them.  I was always hearing two different things from the professor and the company.  uncoordinated efforts.  client doesn’t know what they want(nothing new there) but whatever it is, its nothing any of you/us/we are coming up with.

Furniture job.. my boss is well… really nice.  wants to be my friend. but he is insane and ocd.  and has no concept of a deadline.  Even though his jobs run north of $20k and usually last only a few weeks, I now understand why he is not a millionaire.  Too many ideas with too little focus is a bad combination.

and my newest “job”.. I’m not going to describe it much b/c its a complicated situation. It is in quotes bc lets just say that not only are the executive producer in different states, they are in completely different states of mind.

Is everything corporate this discombobulated and uncoordinated?

It is all starting to leave kind of a bad taste in my mouth.  I might need to look into business school. ha.
